Overview

The Paddy’s River embankment project involved the remediation of a road embankment following a flooding event of the nearby creek. Works involved clearing the area, excavating a foundation in the creek bed, building up a rock embankment (500mm+ Rock), pouring a concrete verge, reinstating guardrail, and resurfacing the road.

This project was raised to Wodens through the TCCS Civil Works Panel agreement. This procurement method streamlined contractor engagement and accelerated timelines.

Wodens completed the works in-house while managing the existing creek to ensure the work was protected. Wodens utilised Bulka Bags to create a contained coffer dam to protect the work area and to limit contamination in the creek. Once the work was completed the Bulka Bags were removed, restoring the creek to its prior condition.

Works were completed 4 weeks ahead of schedule due to Wodens planning and coordination. The project met the contract budget, and the client was very pleased with the result.
