Overview

Wodens completed this major pavement rehabilitation project, which rectified pavement degradation and upgraded more than 3.5 km of roadway. Aimed at improving safety and maintaining regulated speeds, the upgrade delivered a 40-year pavement lifespan. The works covered 3.5 km of milling, resheeting, and foam stabilisation, and involved over 20,000 tonnes of asphalt and 25,000m2 of Foam Stabilised Bitumen. To manage daily traffic exceeding 65,000 vehicles (two-way average), Wodens implemented extensive staging, traffic management and concurrent day and night shifts, while overseeing subcontractors including Downer and Stabilised Pavements Australia (SPA). The project was complex and required strong coordination with authorities and stakeholders, and included material recycling, earthworks, service protection, and installation of surface finishes and traffic signage. Environmental safeguards and survey quality assurance were integral to project delivery and long-term durability.
