Overview

The South Jerrabomberra Northern Entry Road project involved the construction of a new dual carriageway from Tompsitt Dr towards the new South Jerrabomberra estate to be known as Environa Drive. Along with Environa Drive, the Tompsitt Drive intersection was upgraded and two intersections were constructed along the new road. This road provides access to the new Poplars innovation Precinct, the Jerrabomberra school site and the new South Jerrabomberra estate. QPRC added a variation to the works which involved a full reconstruction of Tompsitt drive. This was completed during Covid lockdowns to minimize disruption to the community. Wodens prepared a very thorough Covid management plan which ensured works could still progress through lock down.

The scope of works involved the construction of:

  • New 1.1km road with two intersections along with the upgrade of the Tompsitt Drive intersection.
  • 700m sewer rising main,
  • 3.2km of watermain,
  • 2.4km of Gravity Sewer,
  • 80,000m3 of earthworks, and
  • 18,000 Tonnes of Heavy-Duty Asphalt.
  • 7,000m2 of Concrete path

Quality was a major focus on the project, and has sucessfully been completed with a high quality finish.
