Overview

Taylor 2 Stage 4B development is located in the northern extent of the ACT and is bounded to the south by Horse Park Drive. The project involved the development of standard residential blocks, multi-unit blocks and large open spaces, with the associated roads, infrastructure and landscaping.

The projects works included the following items:

  • Retention and protection of existing significant trees during clearing operations.
  • Bulk earthworks and detailing trimming operations.
  • The construction of roads including kerbs, footpaths and carparks.
  • Installation of in-ground services including sewer, watermain, stormwater, power, streetlighting, communications, gas and a precast GPT.
  • Construction of cast-insitu post tensioned road bridge with a central pier, precast concrete parapets and a steel handrails.
  • Construction of cast-insitu post tensioned road bridge with a central pier, precast concrete parapets and a steel handrails.
  • Construction of prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge over an existing floodway with precast concrete parapets on the abutments.
  • Reshaping of two existing floodways and installation of boulder landscaping features and six precast drop structures
  • Construction of box culvert overpass with cast-insitu blade walls, precast concrete parapets and a steel handrails.
  • Traffic management to facilitate civil works on live road intersections.
  • Large amounts of landscaping including topsoil amelioration, structural tree vaults, mass plantings of natives and exotics shrubs and trees, and dryland grassing.

Quality was a major focus on the project, and has successfully been completed with a high quality finish within a very tight time-frame.
