In May, the 2021 ACT CCF Earth Awards were held at Hotel Realm. We had multiple submissions that were finalists. We were successful with two awards. We won the Project Value $10 Million to $30 Million category for our Gundaroo Drive Stage 2 Project. This is the 2nd year in a row winning this award. We also won the WH&S – Civil Award for our Northbourne Avenue Rehabilitation – Stage 1 Project. Congratulations to all of the Wodens team on these awards.

Over the past few months, we have completed several projects. In May we were awarded the 2nd and 3rd stage of Northbourne Ave Rehabilitation. These works had to be completed in a tight program and the project was completed by the end of June, 4 weeks ahead of program. Wodens worked with Stabilised Pavements Australia & Downer EDI again to achieve a high-quality outcome. We have also completed the Whitlam 2C subdivision. The whole project team did an outstanding job and completed the project 11 weeks ahead of program, a great effort for a 10-month project.

Our current projects are progressing well. Jerrabomberra Northern Entry Road project is nearing completion. Our client (QPRC) has added a large portion of work that involves rebuilding 1 complete side of Tompsitt drive. We have commenced these works this past week. The Well Station Carpark project has been progressing well. Asphalt and landscaping works will be commencing in the forthcoming weeks. Works at The Fields rural subdivision at Murrumbateman have been progressing well, even with the challenges of the recent wet weather. Currently the project team is working on shared trench and pavements, with earthworks on stage 2 about to commence

We were awarded Denman Prospect 1B Stage 2E subdivision by the Capital Estate Developments team. The team onsite has been doing a great job given the environmental challenges of the original condition of the site. Hydraulics are currently being installed across the project. Additionally, our Denman Prospect 1B Stage 2D-1 has been advancing very well and is moving into the final stages.

Our tendering team has continued to be hard at work submitting numerous large tenders. We are currently waiting on some feedback on these projects. Keep an eye on our news page for any updates.

In April, we welcomed a new staff member into the Wodens family, Pasan Galappaththi, who has become one of our new Project Engineers.
