• Joe McClelland retired at the end of 2016, following successful completion of the award winning Molonglo Link Bridge project. Joe worked with Woden Contractors for over 36 years and was a highly skilled and dedicated Site Supervisor after making his way to Canberra from the wilds of Tumbarumba. He started working with Woden Contractors in the late 1970s as a dozer operator but quickly showed his talent at organising and planning civil projects. Joe was passionate about training young operators and worked with many of our trainee operators over the years in helping them to become confident and skilled at operating earthmoving equipment. He was a highly valued member of our team and his experience (particularly with earthworks operations) will be sorely missed.
  • Peter Hofman retired at the end of June 2017. Peter worked “behind the scenes” in our workshop and for the last 10 years or so has been our Workshop Manager. Peter worked with Woden Contractors for just over 30 years. He was knowledgeable in all aspects of mechanical work associated with our various pieces of earthworks machinery. Peter always looked on the bright side of life and was eager to share a joke or a story about his exploits in the “good old days” with anyone who would listen. He developed great relationships with various sales staff within the industry and, he too, will be sorely missed. We should mention that we received a wonderful letter from Peter’s 92 year old mother upon his retirement thanking the Company for employing Peter and confirming that he had been very happy over the years working with us.
